In Our Nature

I explore how nature makes me feel looking at the bond between humans and plants. I use isolated self-portraits that aren’t identifiable and images of places in nature to present this. The human body in its naked form to portray the themes of raw natural elements, mixed with plant matter used to create these anthotypes, this was an important way to connect these ideas together. Looking at isolated shapes and forms within these spaces by concentrating on shadow and depth to isolate the subjects. Using a mixture of alternative photographic practices to relate to the chemical components in photosynthesis and human biology. This combination of mixed media techniques represents a physicality of the similarities between humans and the natural world. The emotion of this is to express the similarities the human body has with its natural environment. Finding moments in nature and expressing its relationship to the human experience.
